What We Do

GO GREEN GLEN ELLYN is a community environmental organization and 501(c)(3) with a mission to make it easier for residents and businesses in Glen Ellyn to be greener through education, advocacy, and action.

• We educate and advocate on local environmental issues through community events, presentations, written newsletters, social media and our website

• We aim to serve the community by providing a hub of information for local environmental resources, and amplify the work of other sustainable organizations and businesses in the community

• We provide volunteer opportunities for community focused environmental projects, and help connect residents on new initiatives, serving as a catalyst for community awareness and activation

Our focus areas include:

• Nurturing and creating usable green space, at home and in our community

• Sustainable use of resources at home and business.

We want choosing ‘green’ to become the default option for everyone - understanding what is good for the planet is also good for you, your family, your business and your community!

We envision Glen Ellyn as an ecological role-model for surrounding municipalities by reducing our overall carbon footprint.

Our Mission (How we get there?)

• We make it easier for people to make green choices by providing simple and easy-to-understand ways to green your everyday life with small steps.

• We make it accessible by hosting a hub for the village for green information, events, volunteer opportunities, etc.

• We make it inviting by building a community of engaged individuals and organizations open to the full spectrum of ‘greenness’ - a no-judgment journey toward being greener. And is a catalyst to spark a green movement among GE residents and businesses alike.
