Projects - What we’re working on
In Go Green’s first year we jumped into a few projects we are pretty proud of like our weekly newsletter, two SportSwaps, the downtown flower pot walk and OAKtoberfest —see our year in review. In our second year, we continued to spread our wings, see the second annual report.
While we are always focused on education, advocacy and volunteering, we want to channel our energies into a few specific issues, with the goal to make a bigger impact in those areas! Based on feedback from the community and input from our Board of Directors, we have determined our 2023 focus areas will be:
Village-wide Anti-idling Campaign that focuses on reducing air pollutants in areas with “young lungs at work” such as schools, parks, and other community areas. )We are working with the League of Women Voters Environmental Committee on this project.)
Increased Composting Awareness and Participation that educates Glen Ellyn residents on composting options that will reduce waste sent to our landfills
Additional recycling education - because we know this is super confusing!
